Esteban Peiró MD

Esteban is a pediatric cardiologist and researcher at the University Hospital La Fe and Health Research Institute La Fe in Valencia, Spain. He is the coordinator of the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and cardiopulmonary exercise testing program (IMPROVE) in this center, and a member of the CPET and cardiac rehabilitation work group from SECPCC.
Currently working in his PhD with the department of cardiology of the University of Valencia on the influence of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation over quality of life and functional capacity in congenital heart disease. He initially created and maintained this site for as an everyday work tool, currently with the invaluable help of everyday more and more top level collaborators.

José Ignacio Carrasco MD

José Ignacio is a pediatric and interventional cardiologist at the University Hospital La Fe, in Valencia, Spain. Director of the Pediatric Cardiology Unit at Hospital Vithas 9 de Octubre, Valencia. Former member of the board of the Spanish Society of Congenital Heart Disease and Pediatric Cardiology. Member of the European Society of Cardiology.
He is a member of the CPET and cardiac rehabilitation work group from SECPCC, and regularly performs CPET in congenital heart disease children.

TIM TAKKEN MSc PhD

Tim Takken MSc PhD

Tim is a medical physiologist and associate professor in pediatrics at the Wilhemina Children’s Hospital of the University Medical Center Utrecht, the Netherlands and the Princes Maxima Center for Pediatric Oncology, Utrecht, the Netherlands. He is a PI in the Child Health focus area and has a special interest in clinical pediatric exercise physiology.
He hosted several international meetings in Utrecht, including the European Workshop on Clinical Pediatric Exercise Testing and the 29 th Pediatric Work Physiology Meeting. He is currently director of the Clinical Exercise Testing Laboratory in Utrecht. Further he is board member of CPX International and chair of the Dutch chapter of CPX International. Dr Takken published over 250 peer-reviewed papers and authored 4 books.
